Attorney of record

The Association has retained Julie Blend of Deally Blend PC as the Association's attorney of record and registered agent.

Mrs. Blend will replace Judd Austin of Henry, Oddo, Austin & Fletcher, P.C. (HOAF). HOAF is large firm that mostly  represents personal injury cases. Dealey Blend is a small, specialized real estate practice with real estate litigation experience and a large portfolio of Homeowner Associations.

Dealey Blend will also replace Robert Blend of The Blend Law Firm (different person bamrd Blend).  BLF has been the Association's registered agent for a number of years but not the attorney of record or otherwise engaged with the Association. For practical reasons, it makes sense to consolidate the registered agent function with the primary attorney of record.

Julie Blend graduated Wake Forest University (B.A. 1986, magna cum laude with Honors) and Baylor University School of Law (J.D. cum laude 1989), and was Assistant Managing Editor of the Baylor Law Review and a member of the Order of Barristers.   Ms. Blend has practiced commercial litigation at large law firms for nearly two decades, primarily at Strasburger & Price, LLP. At Strasburger, she was a partner in the Business Litigation Section for eight years, practicing commercial real estate litigation. Her practice includes community association law and commercial litigation with a concentration in the real estate industry. Over the course of her career, Julie has tried lawsuits to jury verdict in state and federal court, briefed and argued in appellate courts, and handled commercial litigation in multiple states. Ms. Blend received her Preeminent AV rating by Martindale-Hubble in 2004. She is licensed to practice in the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a past-president of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and former director of the Dallas Bar Association, a Fellow of both the Dallas and Texas Bar Foundations, and a Founding Fellow of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation. She has been a frequent speaker and author. Her published writings are included in The University of Texas School of Law’s Review of Litigation, Shepard’s Expert and Scientific Evidence, the Baylor Law Review, Common Ground Magazine and Community Contact Magazine. Julie values commitment to community service and is a member of the Leadership Dallas Alumni Association.

Comments

  1. On January 22, all collection accounts (2) were transferred from Henry, Oddo, Austin & Fletcher, P.C. to Dealey Blend P.C. While it is rare for a LoBT owner to be delinquent on their dues, when it does happen, the Association wants to do its best to present a collection process that accurate, constructive and respectful.
