The Secret Life of HOA Dogs: A Quick Guide for Owners

Living in an HOA community means enjoying well-kept spaces and friendly neighbors, and it also means following a few key rules—especially for our four-legged friends. A little responsibility goes a long way in keeping both pups and people happy!

No Four-legged Friends in the Pool Area
Although your pup may love a poolside stroll, the LOBT bylaws and the City of Dallas prohibit this. You may use the area as a pass-through to the golf course. Keep the pool area clean and stick to designated potty zones.

Pick Up After Your Pup
Dog-friendly areas aren’t landmine zones—always scoop the poop. Nobody wants that ‘friendly reminder’ letter from the HOA. In addition, dogs should not walk in residential gardens or in the ornamental grass features.

Leash Up!
Even the best-behaved pups need a leash. It keeps them safe from traffic, overzealous squirrels, and grumpy neighbors. REMINDER: Non-member residents (and their dogs) are only allowed on the golf course before 6:30 am, and tee boxes, greens and sand traps are to be avoided.

Mind Your Dog’s Manners

Not all dogs want to say hi. Be respectful of personal space and keep barking under control—your neighbors will thank you.

Right of Way
Sidewalks, streets and trails are shared spaces. Keep your dog close and yield to pedestrians, cyclists, and other dogs to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone.

Keep It Pawsitive!

A little courtesy and a lot of poop bags go a long way in keeping the community dog-friendly. Now, go give your pup a treat! 🐶
