Dog bite incident at the Lakes
There was a unfortunate incident on January 4th. A dog bit a resident who suffered a wound to her hand.
The treating physician reported the dog bites to Dallas Animal Services. The City of Dallas investigated the incident and quarantined the dog (rabies).
The information on hand is that the resident who was bitten has lived in the community for 5 years; the dog owner has lived in the community for 12 years. The dog is a small white dog (Coton de Tulear) who was, reportedly, on a leash at the time of the incident. The dog had a current rabies vaccination at the time of the incident.
The Association is further investigating the matter and is also waiting to hear the City's opinion. A photo of the bite which was posted here for 30 days has been removed from this blog post at the injured party's request.
